This week on Random Encounters: The 9th-level Mind Flayer Sorcerer! Also known as Illithids, these tentacular horrors are powerful psions and frequently capable spellcasters. They are capable of enslaving or devouring the minds of their victims. Here’s an Illithid taking a little time off to enjoy the life of the mind. Obviously, Mind Flayers are heavily influenced by the fiction of H.P. Lovecraft, who was a stunningly inventive writer and terrible bigot. I have a soft spot for these monsters and I encourage anyone interested in some truly weird stuff to check out “At The Mountains of Madness”, “The Colour Out of Space”, “The Dunwich Horror”, and indeed almost any Lovecraft tale.WEBSITE / PRINTS / MAIN BLOG

Wolf and Weasel (found on google)

Le Brun’s System on Physiognomy

I saw someone posted some of these and then ruined one of them with a shitty ‘horse face’ joke.

So heres the entire list of his plates. Including a weasel one I found on google which I found adorable.

Charles Le Brun drew these plates to explore how humans would look if we had animal characteristics.
